This November 4, 2014 New Yorkers will vote on an amendment to the state constitution to reform the process by which congressional and state legislative district lines are drawn. For decades New Yorkers have been subjected to a redistricting process that has allowed legislators to draw their own district lines, giving way to partisan and self-interested goals and resulting in districts that divide neighborhoods, and bear little resemblance to actual communities.  We have the rare opportunity to change this by voting yes on Proposal 1.
